Hi! Creator here.
I made a first-of-its-kind tool that optimizes profit repatriation from international subsidiaries back to corporate headquarters. This solution addresses a significant market gap by eliminating costly manual research, offering multinational corporations and their advisors the potential to legally save billions in taxes and helping demystify how some companies achieve a 0% tax rate on their global profits.

Useful tool. Maybe consider adding the inclusion of profit numbers themselves: you have x profit and if you choose the direct route you are left with y, but if you choose the optimized route you end up with z (with z>y).

Great catch, will do in a future update.

Interesting tool, I think one of the great things with AI is it can also be an equalizer -- because this kind of tool makes tax optimizations available to SME's too, not just big multinationals!

Thanks, I agree! It is worth noting that these types of constructions are only feasible once a company attains a certain level of profits. For example, it might not be beneficial for a small SME with only €100,000 in profits in Country X. If you want to send that money through Country Y to Country Z, you will still have to pay to set up these structures in Country Y. This can incur significant additional costs, as some jurisdictions require you to establish "activities" (such as hiring personnel and conducting "active" business) to prevent the use of these structures.

As a tax advisor specializing in tax planning, I wanted to commend you on a great build (and I am certainly looking forward to TreatyHopper+). As it stands now, this tool will serve as an excellent starting point for tax planning. I emphasize starting point because, as you mentioned in another comment, the practical reality of setting up these structures is often far more challenging than a tool can make it seem. Nevertheless, I believe that if you continue to develop this product, there is a huge market waiting for it. The direction you are taking with TH+ suggests you are on the right track.

Thx

That fact that this is possible and you now made it more easy to find out is horrifying.

I felt the same - I really want an 'ironic' version of this tool which is the same, but exists more to expose this kind of practice than to enable it.

You can still use it to "expose" the routes taken. I often compare it to GPS: you can use GPS to find your intended destination, but you can also use it to guide weapons. The functionality remains the same, the ethical implication is entirely dependent on how it is used.

I mean: I didn't do anything illegal. It just using the rules that exist to your advantage (something that any rational agent would do, in order to maximize their utility). Also, there are rules like GAAP and PPT to avoid this kind of behavior, so it is not as simple as this tool (which is an abstraction of reality) shows. It certainly is controversial however, but if you had read the disclaimer at the bottom of the website, you would have already known.
Nevertheless, it's now accessible to anyone (whom is rational) and has the means to utilize these types of structures ;)
